Dernier communiqué en Anglais de Root6 Technology :
At ROOT6 Technology we are proud to announce that Avid Technology have certified ContentAgent as part of its Alliance Partnership program. Being a certified product gives customers the reassurance that Avid Technology and ROOT6 Technology have tested interoperability between ContentAgent and the Avid Media Central platform.

  • ContentAgent v3.5 provides the automated ingest of camera cards and file based media seamlessly into an Avid Technology ecosystem, whether standalone, as part of a shared storage workflow or as an automated Interplay PAM check In, including Edit While Transcode if desired.
  • ContentAgent v3.5, a major software release for ROOT6 Technology’s file-based workflow management and automation platform, will be demonstrated at NAB. Globally installed, ContentAgent now benefits from a host of new features including a number of tools to further enhance interoperability in Avid ecosystems. These new automated processes significantly reduce common time-consuming tasks typically employed when preparing Avid media for editing and provide simplified media management. Such extended Avid support includes grouping, consolidating and assembling clip based media into an automatically generated sequence, and maintain timecode gaps between master clips, for example in « time-of-day » multi-camera shoots.
  • The new ‘Edit While Transcode’ feature provides the ability to begin editing while transcoding clips for an Avid Interplay ingest workflow. As media files grow editors and assistants can immediately browse, log and start editing the clips within the Interplay asset management system, negating the need to wait until the transcode process is finished. Another powerful timesaving feature allows ContentAgent to write Avid OP-Atom MXF media for standalone and shared storage environments, automatically updating the Avid database file that is present in all Avid MediaFiles folders, thus avoiding lengthy rescans by Avid Media Composer clients so media is instantly available for editing.
  • The need to automate camera card ingest has never been more important. While ContentAgent addresses this issue, CardAgent with its simplified UI allows multiple non-technical staff to initiate a variety of workflows from camera card structures (or single clips) in parallel to enable an extremely efficient ingest operation. Operators are able to browse, playback, trim clips, add custom metadata, re-name clips and create sequences.
  • WAN acceleration has become the de facto way to send large media files securely and efficiently. ContentAgent now supports both FileCatalyst and Aspera WAN acceleration services for automated delivery. Security is also greatly enhanced by ContentAgent’s integration with NexGuard invisible forensic watermarking.
  • ContentAgent’s Workflow Designer tool has also been updated in v3.5 to reflect the increasing complexity of file-based workflows. Using new graphics technology, the new designer makes it possible to zoom in on workflow details, simplifying workflow creation and navigation.

Owen Walker, ROOT6 Technology’s Head of Product Management sums up: Originally seen as simply a transcoding device, ContentAgent has moved way beyond this to become the hub of file-based operations in facilities worldwide. The latest software demonstrates extended integration with best of breed third party technologies and delivers even greater flexibility and productivity for ContentAgent users. »
